John, I’m excited to share that The South Carolina AFL-CIO has officially endorsed our campaign for Governor, along with delegates representing some of the strongest, toughest, and proudest workers in this state.
While the federal government continues to raise the cost of living, these leaders are fighting for better wages and benefits for all workers. I am honored to have their support. This endorsement represents public service and government workers, skilled trades and industrial workers, and the unified backing of all three Central Labor Councils in South Carolina. Working people across this state are standing together to say they are ready for a new beginning and a brighter day.
My entire life has been shaped by working-class struggle. I grew up in poverty, moved from motel to motel, and watched my own family fight to stay afloat. It was regular working people who showed me what it meant to keep pushing when everything felt impossible.
I have never forgotten who helped me become the man I am today. And as Governor, I will fight for them the same way they fought for me.
I’m Jermaine Johnson, and I’m running to be the next Governor of South Carolina.
I wasn’t born into power — I fought my way into it. I'm not a career politician or a wealthy insider.
I'm a husband, father, and fighter who knows what it’s like to grow up with nothing and still keep pushing forward.
