Hey John,
I have exciting news: yesterday, Nida Allam officially launched her campaign for North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District — and Sunrise endorsed her on Day One.
My name is Artivista, and I’m a student at Duke University. Yesterday, when I spoke at her campaign launch, I felt proud to stand beside someone who isn’t afraid to take on the powerful interests hurting our communities, someone who’s ready to fight back with us and build a future where working people, not corporations, call the shots.
I’m fired up about this endorsement because I’ve seen firsthand what kind of leader Nida is. When we rallied to protect students and workers at Duke and to keep ICE off our campus, Nida stood with us every step of the way.
Across North Carolina, hundreds of Sunrise members, from Duke, UNC, Durham, and our hubs across the state, are already organizing to push back against Trump’s attacks. Because we’re doing this work on the ground every day, we know what’s at stake, and we’re ready to organize to send Nida to Congress to fight alongside us.
Working people are getting ripped off. Families are being torn apart by rogue agents. And the incumbent in this seat is taking money from the very same forces fueling those attacks: powerful corporations, AIPAC, and crypto billionaires.
Nida Allam is the leader North Carolina needs.
As the first Muslim woman ever elected in the state, she’s shown she’s not afraid to challenge a broken political system, and she’s ready to take that fight to Congress.
But taking on entrenched corporate-backed power isn’t easy. It’s going to take a grassroots movement to win, and that starts with all of us.
Will you chip in $10 or whatever you can to help power Nida’s campaign from the very beginning?
Together, we can elect a champion who will deliver for working people and shake up Congress in the process.
