MEDIA ADVISORY AND PUBLIC NOTICE
Congressman Al Green Issues Statement on Members Vote to Table Impeachment Resolution - H.Res.939
(Washington, DC)—On Wednesday, December 11, 2025, Congressman Al Green issued the following statement regarding H.Res.939, a privileged resolution calling for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. After consideration, the House voted 237-140 to table the measure, with 47 members voting “present.” A copy of the members’ votes is accessible by clicking here. See Congressman Green’s response below:
Congressman Al Green stated, “Donald John Trump’s pattern of threatening rhetoric, disregard for democratic norms, and harmful behavior towards lawmakers and federal judges cannot be ignored. Today’s vote reflects the reservations Members of Congress have about Donald John Trump’s conduct and the danger it poses to our nation. While the House ultimately voted to table my impeachment resolution, the diversity of support for this impeachment includes ranking members of full committees, subcommittees, and persons from different political caucuses. This should send a powerful message to President Trump. He should understand now that targeting people is not only harmful to the people he targets, but also harmful to the continuation of his presidency.”
