John, I wanted you to hear it from me first – I’m running for Senate in my home state of Texas.

Here’s the truth: I didn’t grow up thinking I would ever run for the U.S. Senate. But I grew up seeing what happens when everyday people don’t have someone fighting for them – and that shaped everything about the way I serve.

From my time as a public defender to my work in Congress, I’ve fought for fairness, justice, and opportunity. Every decision I make is in the interest of protecting the civil liberties of those in underrepresented communities.

The challenges facing Texas and the rest of our country today are bigger than ever — and the Senate needs voices who aren’t afraid to call things what they are and demand better.

That’s why I’m running.

I’ll be frank: I’m DONE watching my state – and our country – get dragged backwards by Trump and the MAGA machine.

I’m done watching people in power stomp on our rights and freedoms.

I’m done watching extremism take over and invade every level of our government.

It’s time to shake things up. This moment demands someone who isn’t afraid to be blunt, bold, and unapologetic about the truth. John, that’s me. And I’m ready to get to work.
