![]() John, I’m proud of the work we are doing here in Pennsylvania to put money back in folks’ pockets. For every parent who wants to give that extra present to their kids this year. For grandparents who want to stay in the home they’ve lived in for decades. For small business owners preparing for the busy holiday season: Pennsylvania just cut taxes for the SEVENTH time since I was sworn in as Governor. These days, a lot of politicians love to talk a big game about affordability. But here in Pennsylvania, we’ve put our money where our mouth is — putting money back in people’s pockets all across the Commonwealth.
Let’s be honest: Some of these far-right politicians have made “affordability” their yearly buzzword. They’ll go on and on, trying to convince us that they actually care about easing the cost of living. But when you take a good look at their records? The story becomes crystal clear: The far-right doesn’t care about lowering costs. They don’t care about the ballooning price of health care. They don’t care about that family in York County that’s struggling to pay their mortgage. They don’t care about that 22-year-old who can’t afford a visit to the doctor. That’s what’s wrong with politics these days, John. Too many politicians love to say what we all want to hear — but when the doors are closed? When they think folks aren’t paying attention? They turn their backs on the people who elected them. Not here in Pennsylvania. As Governor, I’ve made it my mission to put a little extra money in folks’ pockets — not just talk about it. And John, after cutting taxes for the seventh time in three years, I’m pretty damn proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
Thank you, Josh Shapiro |
