Every day, thousands of Alabamians go to work knowing that their ability to see a doctor, afford prescriptions and care for their families depends on the HealthCare.gov marketplace. As Congress prepares to vote on whether to extend the enhanced ACA tax credits, the stakes for workers across our state could not be higher. This is a moment when your voice truly matters.
We’ve launched an Alabama workers’ sign-on letter, and it is specifically intended for workers or employers whose employees rely on HealthCare.gov for affordable coverage. This includes workers such as small business owners/employees, gig workers, non-profit workers, self-employed, contract workers, etc. If that applies to you, we would be grateful to have your name added.

When workers speak up together, it sends a powerful message that cannot be ignored. Your voice as someone who relies on coverage through HealthCare.gov, helps show our leaders that affordable health care is not a political issue. It is a workplace issue, a family issue and an economic issue. By signing the workers’ letter, you help us demonstrate that the people most affected by rising premiums are watching and speaking out. In the next week, Congress will make decisions that directly impact your access to care starting in January. We need to show them that Alabama’s workforce is paying attention.
Your signature can make a meaningful difference. |
Thank you for raising your voice and standing with us. Together, we can make sure health care stays within reach for Alabama families. In solidarity, Debbie Smith |
