Dear John, Today, NOW joins the global community in celebrating International Human Rights Day.
This year’s observance is all about reaffirming the values of human rights and showing that they remain a winning proposition for humanity, which aligns perfectly with the work NOW does across the country every day.
In small towns and big cities, our members, advocates, and organizers are fighting to ensure that women are equally valued in society and are not forced into second-class citizenship status. We are on the frontlines of defending and extending women’s rights—because women’s rights are human rights.
But as you know, we never do this work alone; our campaigns and initiatives are fueled by the energy of our supporters, and I appreciate your engagement in helping our teams educate and grow the movement for a feminist future. Our work together is deeply intertwined with human rights: |
In other words, when we fight for the core issues that our community cares about, we are making America more humane—and we’re also contributing to the larger global struggle. So, on International Human Rights Day, I thank you again for standing in solidarity with NOW. With you by our side, we will continue making progress toward a more equal society for all.
