Hi,
The Trump administration is proposing massive changes that would
gut the Endangered Species Act — and
we have until December 22nd to stop them.
For over 50 years, the ESA has been America’s strongest defense
against extinction, saving 99% of listed species including the Bald
Eagle, Grey Wolf, and Humpback Whale. Now, proposed federal
regulations would dismantle the protections that made these recoveries
possible.
The rollbacks would eliminate automatic safeguards for threatened
species, allowing the Florida Manatee and Northern Spotted Owl to slip
toward extinction without intervention. They would let federal
agencies fast-track mining, drilling, and logging projects without
fully assessing whether they’ll wipe out vulnerable populations. And
they would let economic pressures — not science — determine which
animals get protection and which habitats can be destroyed.
This is the same law Americans demanded on the first Earth
Day in 1970. We won it once. Now we need to defend it.
The public comment period is open until December 22nd. Every
comment submitted becomes part of the official record and strengthens
the legal case against these rollbacks. Your voice isn’t just
symbolic — it’s essential.
Tell the Department of the Interior to
withdraw these reckless changes and protect the wildlife and wild
places that belong to all of us.
Together,
Kathleen Rogers President
