John -
Trump has declared war on cleaner cars.
Just last week, he announced his plan to roll back fuel economy standards, paving the way for automakers to put more polluting fossil-fueled cars on our roads.1
If he’s successful, it will leave us all with dirtier air to breathe, a more dangerous climate to live in, and less money in our wallets. But Trump hasn’t won yet.
His administration has to accept feedback from the public before they can enact this dirty rollback – and we won’t let them end these rules without a fight.
The U.S. is still the world’s largest consumer of oil,2 and our reliance on gas guzzling cars is a big part of the problem.
Since taking office, Trump has been taking aim at every effort our country has made to change that. He’s also rolling back tailpipe pollution standards, ending tax credits for buying electric vehicles, and blocking California from setting tougher clean car standards of its own.3 It’s all a big gift to auto industry CEOs – but it comes at the expense of our people and planet.
The rest of the world is going electric, with or without us. We can’t let Trump hold us back from the cleaner, safer, fairer future we all deserve.
We’re raising our voices NOW, while the Trump administration has to listen. Make sure they hear from you. The public comment period closes in just 45 days – add your name to 350’s official public comment today. And please share this with your friends and family.
In solidarity,
