CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY FILING PERIOD EXTENSION FOR REPUBLICAN 2026 PRIMARY
     

At 9:21 am this morning, Criminal District Attorney Will Thompson submitted his completed, signed, and notarized "Certificate Of Withdrawal."

Because Will Thompson is an incumbent and he withdrew either on the final day of filing Monday December 8 or today Tuesday December 9 which is the withdraw deadline, per Election Code 145.001 and SOS Election Advisory 2025-14, the filing period for Criminal District Attorney must be extended five days which is Saturday, which is carried over to Monday December 15 until 6:00 pm.  . 

County Chair Steve Jessup will be available Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and Monday December 15 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm for new Criminal District Attorney candidate filings.

Filings during the filing period must be done by appointment with the RPNC.  Call (903) 872-6287.

Before any preliminary campaign expenses, file your "Appointment of Treasurer" form with the Elections Administrator, 601 North 13th Street, Corsicana.  These expenses include your filing fee.

Cashiers checks (or cash) are required for filing fees paid prior to the extended filing deadline Monday December 15 to insure sufficient funds,

The Drawing For The Order Of Candidate Names On The Primary Election Ballot will be held on Thursday evening December 18 at 6:30 pm at Republican Headquarters.  This is an opportunity for candidates to invite family and friends.
On September 15, the Republican Party Of Navarro County voted to concur with the Republican Party Of Texas Resolution Honoring Charlie Kirk.
IRepublican Party of Navarro County operations account pays for our Republican Headquarters in West Third Avenue.  As Republicans, we must pay our own way.  It is the other party that has free stuff.  We have several contributor levels:
  • Roosevelt = $ 100
  • Coolidge = $ 250
  • Eisenhower = $ 500
  • Lincoln = $ 1000
  • Reagan = $ 5000
You would receive a lapel pin, recognizing your contribution. 

The Republican Headquarters is a valuable resource to the local party, as well as the Navarro County Republican Women’s club.  Volunteers have been recruited, because they either called the Headquarters or came in person.  Our candidates had a visible and accessible place to file for office.
