You’ve probably heard me mention my mother before — how she came to this country with big dreams and a work ethic to match. Her journey taught me that with determination and heart, anything is possible.

It also showed me that our government should work for people like her — making life more affordable, creating opportunities, and helping families get ahead, not holding them back. That’s the principle that fuels me every single day in this work.

Now, you might be wondering why I’m circling back to this now. We are about to face our toughest race yet, and when things get difficult, it's more important than ever to remember why we're in the fight.

Right now, there’s a lot to be optimistic about. We're riding a powerful wave of momentum from November's Democratic victories. It's proof that our focus on lowering costs and building a government that works for the people is what voters want.

But here's the flip side of that success: it’s exactly why Republicans are aiming for NM-02.

Republicans know this seat is essential if they hope to counter Democratic momentum and hold their House majority in 2026.

Just last week, Speaker Mike Johnson announced a $6 million offensive, and you can bet a significant portion is headed right here to try and drown out our fight for affordability with a wave of negative attacks.

That’s what makes our next step so critical, John.
