John,
Every single person deserves dignity and economic security.
But most American families live paycheck-to-paycheck—meaning they’re one job loss, disability, or emergency away from crushing financial hardship.
As families face rising costs and lower wages, Trump and Republicans are taking away food and health insurance from millions of Americans.
We urgently need transformative anti-poverty programs to meet people’s needs and save lives.
So I’m launching the Economic Dignity for All Agenda to help ensure that every family and child has the resources needed to flourish.
This package of policies would provide regular cash assistance directly to individuals and families nationwide.
You can find details of this Economic Dignity for All Agenda below, but if you’ve already heard enough, please add your name now to demand Congress act to provide recurring, universal payments to all Americans.
While spending billions of our tax dollars on war crimes and fascist repression, Trump and Republicans are giving huge tax breaks to billionaires and top corporations.
It doesn’t have to be this way: It’s a policy choice to keep people struggling in poverty.
To address the cost of living crisis, the Economic Dignity for All Agenda includes three bold policies:
-
The End Child Poverty Act would provide a long-overdue safety net for all of our children—creating a universal child allowance of $458 per child per month. Children would be automatically enrolled at birth, and every family would receive a monthly payment for every child they are caring for, from birth until the age of 19.
-
The BOOST Act (Building Our Opportunities to Survive and Thrive Act) would provide $250/month to adults aged 19 to 67 years old. Everyone deserves economic security, and this is how we help break the cycle of poverty. Passing this policy would also reduce the concentrated economic power of the few, distributing resources to the many.
-
The Baby Bonus Act would provide every family with $2,000 upon the birth of their child, during a crucial time in newborns’ development. Many parents see their incomes decline in the months prior to and after a birth, making it even harder to afford the influx of necessary expenses like diapers and formula.
These payments would be administered by the Social Security Administration, which already sends out monthly checks to 50 million seniors.
Will you join me in the urgent call for life-saving payments to the people? Please sign on now to show your support for the Economic Dignity for All Agenda.
Thank you so much for continuing to fight for a better country and world.
I’m continually inspired by everyday people working in their communities, building networks of care and mutual aid while resisting attacks with their neighbors.
In the past decade, Americans have implemented over 160 successful pilot programs providing direct cash assistance to their neighbors. We know these programs work, and we’ll keep pushing for them at all levels of government.
With you in the fight,
Rashida
