When I look at Washington, D.C., it feels like watching your parents fight while there’s no food on the table. The arguing never stops, but nothing gets fixed. Meanwhile, families are struggling, costs keep rising, and the same politicians keep pointing fingers instead of delivering results.

I’m not a politician — I’m a problem solver.
That’s been my entire life.

Before public service, I studied engineering at San Diego State University, where I learned how to diagnose problems, break them down, and fix them. Then I spent 33 years as a Delta Airlines pilot, where there’s no room for excuses — when you’re at 30,000 feet, you solve the problem in front of you. You don’t get to file a lawsuit or schedule a committee hearing. You get the job done.

That’s the mindset I brought to City Council, to the Mayor’s office, and to the County Board of Supervisors. Every step of the way, my mission has been to make things work for the people I serve. Whether it’s public safety, infrastructure, homelessness, or housing, I’ve focused on delivering real results because I understand local control and what our communities actually need.

My opponent took a very different path.

He went from being a lawyer to becoming a member of Congress — and it shows.

Roughly a third of Congress is made up of lawyers. They’re professional arguers. They fight, debate, obstruct, and litigate — but they don’t fix. And that’s exactly what we’ve seen from him: ineffective, absent, and missing in action on the issues that matter most to San Diego County.

He calls himself bipartisan, but ask yourself: What has he actually done to improve your life in the past 7 years?
Where has he been as housing costs explode?
As energy bills skyrocket?
As families get priced out of the communities they grew up in?

When I served as Mayor of San Marcos, we built affordable housing before it was trendy. We kept homelessness low by investing in treatment and real solutions. We turned our city into an education hub with stronger job opportunities. Because results matter — not rhetoric.

I’m running for Congress because Washington needs fewer lawyers and more engineers and problem-solvers. People who fix things. People who understand how systems work. People who have lived real lives, held real jobs, and actually know the communities they serve.

Southern California deserves someone who shows up, listens, and delivers. Not someone who disappears until election season.

If you’re ready for a representative who solves problems instead of arguing about them, I’m ready to fight for you — and get things done for our region.

Let’s fix this.
