As 2025 comes to a close, I’m grateful for the many ways we’ve been able to serve Iowans this year — from returning over $30 million through Great Iowa Treasure Hunt to helping families save for education with ISave 529™ and empowering even more people in the disability community to save for the future and spend in the present with IAble®.
Year end is the perfect time to pause, reflect and plan ahead. In this issue, you’ll find ways to wrap up your 2025 savings, check if your name is linked to unclaimed property and prepare for exciting IAble updates.
Thank you for working with the Treasurer’s Office — whether by searching for unclaimed property, saving for education, or learning about IAble. Here’s to a joyful holiday season and a bright start to 2026!

The holidays are a season for giving but also a time when scams are on the rise. Protect yourself and share these quick tips with your loved ones:
- Before donating, make sure the organization or charity is legitimate and registered.
- Be cautious of emails or texts asking for personal or financial information, especially those with urgent language.
- Shop securely and look for “https://” in website addresses before entering payment information.
- Never share Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or other sensitive details unless you are sure of the recipient.
Taking a few extra moments can help keep your finances safe and your holidays merry and bright.
