Dear John,
Two bills moving quickly through Congress threaten clean water, clean air, and the bedrock environmental laws that have kept pollution in check for decades. The PERMIT Act (H.R.3898) and the SPEED Act (H.R.4776) are expected to receive votes this month, and polluting industries are pushing hard to get them passed.
Your Representative needs to hear from you now. Tell Congress to vote NO on these harmful bills. [[link removed]]

The PERMIT Act weakens long-standing Clean Water Act protections by limiting EPA authority, restricting the ability of states and tribes to defend their own waterways, and making it harder to hold polluters accountable. It shifts decisions away from science means more contamination in rivers, lakes, wetlands, and drinking water sources.
The SPEED Act narrows the scope of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), reducing the environmental reviews that help communities understand and challenge harmful projects. Weakening NEPA means less transparency, fewer opportunities for public input, and greater risks to clean air and clean water.
These safeguards exist for a reason. For years, laws like the Clean Water Act and NEPA have reduced pollution, prevented environmental harm, and ensured that communities have a voice when major projects move forward. Rolling them back now would take us in the wrong direction.

John, the voices of everyday people are crucial at this moment. Congress must hear from those who want stronger protections for their families and communities, not weaker ones.
Tell your Representative to oppose the PERMIT Act and the SPEED Act before they come for a vote! [[link removed]]
