Chinsinsi Banda discovered she was pregnant immediately after taking her final primary school exams. She was shocked, as she says she had sex only once.
Chinsinsi represents millions of girls in Malawi, where 29% of teenagers become pregnant. Many end up getting married and dropping out of school.

Our teams are working across Africa, Asia and the Americas to fight the injustices of child marriage, teenage pregnancy and school dropout. When laws and systems don’t protect girls from these threats, that’s a form of gender-based violence—and it needs to stop.
