Friend, 

I retired as an Air Force lieutenant colonel having worked as a military prosecutor and U.S. Air Force Academy professor and professional ethics instructor.

My job was to teach future leaders the non-negotiable standards of public service and the demands of those serving this country: Integrity First and the Rule of Law.

That is why I am genuinely disgusted by the leadership coming out of the Pentagon from Secretary Pete Hegseth.

His actions are the exact opposite of everything I taught:

1. Violating the Laws of War
2. Placing blame on anyone other than himself
3. Blatantly lying about the Inspector General report on his Signal nonsense

This is what happens with political appointees who lack the discipline, training, or moral compass required for the job.

I am running as an Independent because I refuse to be part of the Washington system that tolerates this corruption. I am running to join a strong Independent caucus that will prioritize honorable public service, ethics, and fighting for working people over party leaders like Schumer and Thune.
