John,
The Supreme Court ruled that Texas must use Greg Abbott’s gerrymandered maps—once again changing district lines and leaving Texans confused about where they vote and who they vote for. The chaos is exactly what the GOP hoped for: a chance to rig the maps in their favor ahead of the midterm elections.
But Powered by People isn’t sitting back and waiting to see what happens. We’re on the ground right now, because waiting until a few months before the 2026 elections is not an option.
The truth is, we can win even under these gerrymandered maps. That’s why we’re organizing in urban and rural communities alike, recruiting candidates and volunteers, heading to college campuses to register young voters, and meeting people where they are to make sure they know how critical it is to get involved.
This work doesn’t just flip a few votes. It builds a foundation: a base of voters who know where and how to make their voice heard, who understand what’s at stake, and who will be ready to act when the time comes.
But running an on-the-ground program like this—registering voters, connecting with communities, and preparing for the fights ahead—takes a lot of resources. And we can’t do it without the support of this team.
Thank you,
