Here’s what we do next:
John,
The Supreme Court just handed Texas Republicans exactly what they wanted: permission to rig their districts and erase Black and Brown voters from power.

Let’s call it what it is: a green light for gerrymandering, a blatant attack on our democracy, and more proof that the GOP is desperate to cling to relevancy.
They’re not winning with better ideas. They’re not winning with young candidates.
They’re winning because they’ve spent decades stacking the courts, suppressing the vote, and rigging the rules to protect their majorities — even when the people vote against them. We’re not going to try to out-cheat them. What we have to do is out-organize them. And that means building something better from the ground up.
John, can you contribute $5 or more right now to help us fight back?

We’re up against a GOP that’s playing a 50-year chess game. And we’re catching up! This past Tuesday, we helped elect Akbar Ali, the youngest state legislator in the state of Georgia, taking the title from Bryce Berry, another LWD candidate.
We’re doing big things together — and it’s only possible because of your support.
Thank you,
Leaders We Deserve
PS - ALSO an important note: This case is NOT over. While these maps are approved for use in 2026 in Texas, whether they will hold up after 2026 remains to be seen. The Court issued a temporary stay, which basically means SCOTUS has paused a lower court’s decision that found the maps unlawful, while the case continues through the appeals process. It can be easy to feel like there is no hope but it’s important to know that this case is not over yet and we can’t give up.
