Friend, 2025 has been an incredibly difficult year for millions of people across the globe. Through one emergency after another, families have been fighting to survive and thrive — and Mercy Corps has been right there fighting alongside them. From responding to Hurricane Melissa to the devastating earthquakes in Myanmar and Afghanistan, our teams have worked tirelessly to meet families’ immediate needs and support them in recovery.
6,000 people have been displaced in Jamaica, while over 12,000 people are sheltering in emergency sites in Haiti. Mercy Corps’ emergency response has focused on multiple aspects of this catastrophe — from establishing long-running emergency preparedness programs to delivering emergency relief and supporting communities’ long-term recovery. We work with trusted local organizations that have deep roots in communities and local expertise to scale impact safely and effectively. In Haiti, we’re providing water, sanitation, and hygiene services, distributing chlorine tablets and hygiene kits, and supporting families through emergency supplies and cash assistance.
