Yep. You read that right. Ron DeSantis plans to redraw the state’s congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterms, and make Florida the latest addition to a growing number of Republican states drawing more favorable districts for themselves. This partisan gamesmanship means that Republicans will gain three to five new House seats. That’s three to five seats that Democrats cannot afford to give up. We’ve already seen this in Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina. We can’t let Florida be next.
