Friend,

What Donald Trump is doing right now with his $300 million White House
ballroom scheme is a brazen attempt to turn the people’s house into a
personal fundraising engine for corporations and billionaires who want
something from his administration.

Trump is literally selling space in the White House to donors whose
business is before the federal government. Some have antitrust cases
pending. Some want mergers approved. Some want federal contracts. And the
White House is refusing to fully disclose who is paying and how much. That
is not philanthropy. It is pay to play.

supporting the Stop Ballroom Bribery Act. >>

Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Robert Garcia’s bill would
finally draw a bright line between public service and private gain. It
bans donations from people seeking contracts, pardons, or government
approvals. It prohibits the President, Vice President, and their families
from hitting up donors for personal vanity projects. It forces full
transparency. And it blocks donors from trading secret checks for special
access or treatment.

It also sets limits on the use of nonprofit partners to bankroll new
monuments to himself, like the reported triumphal arch project now being
called the “Arc de Trump.” These schemes only exist because loopholes and
weak oversight allow presidents to tap wealthy insiders for projects that
benefit them personally. This bill slams those loopholes shut.

the petition and help push Congress to act. >>

We cannot allow the White House to become a billboard for corporate
influence. We cannot allow leftover funds to be siphoned off for
presidential perks. And we certainly cannot allow donors to hide their
names or hide their meetings with administration officials while they seek
favors behind closed doors.

This is exactly how corruption takes root. It is exactly why public trust
erodes. And it is exactly why we need a powerful public response.

Thank you for speaking out.
