Dear Friend,
Earlier this week, Our Shepherd,
Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke offered the December 1 Operation Storm
Heaven for all the intentions that were submitted, at the Shrine of
Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Here are some highlights of His
Eminence’s homily:
“In Advent, we contemplate the
mystery of the redemptive incarnation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and
strive to grow in our relationship with Him, our knowledge and love of
Him, in His living presence with us in the Church through the
sacraments and through our life of prayer and devotions, and in a
particular way, through the praying of the Holy Rosary, meditating on
the mysteries of our salvation.”
Speaking on the great solemnity of
the Immaculate Conception, Cardinal Burke stated:
“God prepared her from all time to
be the Mother of the Redeemer, to conceive in her womb God the Son
through the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit for our redemption. This
is a time to grow very strongly in our love of our Blessed Mother and
through her, to draw nearer to Our Lord.”
Regarding the Dec. 10 Centennial of
the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, together with the Infant Jesus
to the Venerable Servant of God, Lucia dos Santos, one of the three
seers of Fatima:
“The revelation, the apparition in
which Our Lady insisted yet again on the importance of the First
Saturdays Devotion in reparation for the salvation of souls and for
the glory of God. This Centennial is an occasion for us to be renewed
in our practice of the First Saturdays and also to spread that
devotion as Our Lady has desired throughout the universal Church. We
should be sorry for the sins which offend the love of God which do not
return. Love for His immeasurable and unceasing love for us. And for
we are inspired out of love to make reparation by regular confession
of our sins on the first Saturday, especially by worthy reception of
Holy Communion and meditating in the company of Our Lady upon all the
mysteries of our redemption. This way, we not only make reparation for
our sins, but in doing so, we grow in love with God. We draw closer to
the mystery of His presence with us. And so, let us dedicate ourselves
on these days to living in the presence of Our Lord Jesus
Christ.”
