Devon Murphy Anderson here, the Executive Director of the Maine Dems, and in honor of the year coming to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on our wins and thank you for your help along the way.

This year, we built the most extensive off-year field program in Maine Democratic Party history to defeat Question 1. On election day, we celebrated its resounding defeat and protected absentee voting for Mainers across the state.

Not only is this a huge win for the thousands who depend on mail-in ballots to have their voices heard, but it also reflects what we can do for our community when we work together.

We knocked on over 41,000 doors, recruited 860 volunteers, and made 365,000 phone calls to our neighbors. We proved again that grassroots organizing works.

Together, we stood up to extremism and defended democracy. We fought back against a far-right, billionaire-backed campaign to suppress voters, and we won, thanks to people like you who made our effort possible.

But John, we are not done yet.

2026 is going to be an uphill battle, and we have to be ready. We have seen what a Republican trifecta looks like in Washington, and it's a disaster for Maine families.
