I have not taken a dime in corporate or special interest money since the first day of my campaign. I am 100% grassroots.
The average donation to my campaign changes, but it's about $15-16 dollars. Sometimes it gets as high as $19.
When people ask, “Why are you able to take the stances that you do?” or “Why are you able to speak the way that you do?”
A lot of it is because I do not rely on special interests to get re-elected or to finance my campaign.
I am financed 100% by everyday regular people and by workers.
I have probably one of the lowest average contribution numbers in all of politics, and I'm proud of that number—$15.
