Will Republicans Become the Party of Obamacare? (Freedom Focus)Latest news on health care, inflation, Ukraine, housing policy, and more |
Greetings from all of us at Advancing American Freedom. We hope you enjoyed a meaningful Thanksgiving filled with family, gratitude, and appreciation for the many blessings we share in this great nation.
Republicans Waver on Obamacare Republicans should be cheering the expiration of President Biden’s COVID-era Obamacare subsidies, which have thrown gas on the fire of rising healthcare premiums. Instead, some of them are actually conspiring with Democrats to extend the supposedly temporary pandemic subsidies.
Not only is this fiscal malfeasance, it would also lock in federal funding for blue state abortions. As AAF Founder Mike Pence has said: “Conservatives CANNOT support the extension of COVID-era Obamacare subsidies that fund abortions.” Read more about AAF’s ongoing fight against Obamacare HERE.
Thanksgiving forced American shoppers to encounter rising grocery prices fueled by broad-sweeping tariffs. As AAF Senior Fellow Joel Griffith revealed in the Washington Times last week, the White House is determined to promote the narrative of Thanksgiving being “25% cheaper” this year. However, this simply isn’t the case. The Administration’s calculation of what’s included in a meal has changed since last year by cutting out normally included items. Thanks to tariffs, grocery inflation is actually at an all-time high. It’s time to make food shopping affordable again — and we should start by removing tariffs on our produce and everyday goods, so Americans don’t have to worry about affording their groceries.

Stop China - Say No to Price Controls Last week, AAF launched a six-figure ad campaign criticizing the use of Most Favored Nation (MFN) policies. By enacting socialist-style price controls on products like pharmaceuticals, American innovation is put at risk. As companies relocate operations to China, where testing and production standards are less rigorous, the United States faces increased economic and strategic vulnerability. AAF is working to ensure America remains the global leader in innovation by urging Congress to defend our national interests and counter the growing threat posed by China.

AAF Chairman Marc Short: We Need to Defend Ukraine Last night, AAF Chairman Marc Short joined Jake Tapper on CNN to discuss ongoing White House renovations and the need to assist Ukraine in its war against Russia. Watch the full panel interview below:
Join Us for an Exclusive Webinar While in London, Vice President Pence joined Ridge and Frost on Sky News to discuss this week’s current events and political happenings at home and abroad.
We’ll hear from Edward J. Pinto, senior fellow and codirector of the Housing Center at the American Enterprise Institute, in conversation with Joel Griffith, Senior Fellow at Advancing American Freedom Foundation.
As Washington floats a 50-year mortgage plan that would lock families into generational debt, drive home prices even higher, and expand federal control of the housing market, this discussion will break down the real policy drivers behind America’s housing affordability crisis.
Ed Pinto, a former executive vice president and chief credit officer at Fannie Mae, is one of the nation’s leading authorities on federal housing policy and its role in both the 2008 crisis and today’s affordability spiral. In a discussion led by AAFF economist Joel Griffith, Ed will explain why the 50-year mortgage would worsen affordability and deepen dependence on Washington, and how a market-driven path forward can restore affordability to home ownership.
We hope you’ll join us for this timely conversation.
ICYMI: Vice President Pence Delivers Foreign Policy Speech at Chatham House in London AAF Founder Mike Pence delivered a speech while visiting the United Kingdom at Chatham House — one of the world’s leading organizations focused on international relations. The Vice President emphasized the importance of U.S.-U.K. relations and addressed the growing threats of China and Russia. He highlighted the need — now more than ever — for America to stand tall on the world stage, leading our allies with strength instead of weakness.

Are You Considering a Year End Gift? Thank you for your support for AAF’s mission to promote and defend the ideas that have made this nation great - free markets, traditional values, and strong American leadership abroad. Did you know we have a sister 501(c)(3) organization called Advancing American Freedom Foundation that accepts tax deductible gifts?
Several donors have asked about different options as they are considering year-end gifts. We ask you to consider a special, year-end, tax-deductible gift given how important it is to stand firm for our shared values. Watch a video about AAF’s vision here.
