Today, I’m in Austin to officially file to run for Congress in Texas’s 9th District.

And I’m doing it just 24 hours after the Supreme Court made a devastating decision — allowing racist, gerrymandered maps drawn by Texas Republicans to stand for the 2026 election.

Let me be absolutely clear: This is a case of politicians choosing their voters, not voters choosing their politicians.

Republicans know their agenda is deeply unpopular. They know a blue wave is coming. And they know they can’t win fair and square — so they’re trying to steal five more congressional seats through manipulation, suppression, and fear.

One of those seats is TX-09.

I’ve spent my life defending the Constitution — as an F-16 combat pilot, as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, and as the commander of the International Space Station.

I didn’t risk my life serving this country just to sit back and let Donald Trump, Greg Abbott, and this Supreme Court dismantle our democracy. That's why I'm running.
