Neighbors helping neighbors
During this tumultuous summer, we are encouraged that people throughout Rock and Walworth counties are working together to make our communities a better place for everyone.

  • Join in Courageous Conversations, our monthly racial justice discussion co-sponsored by Diversity Action Team of Rock County and YWCA Rock County. This month's virtual discussion is scheduled for Monday, July 27. The topic is Protesting, Rioting, Looting and the Militarization of the Police”, facilitated by representatives from Community Action, Diversity Action Team of Rock County and YWCA Rock County. More details available here.

  • Throughout the pandemic, Twin Oaks Shelter for the Homeless remained open thanks to your support. We self-quarantined, substituting phone calls and emails for face-to-face contact with our case manager and staff. Staff supplemented the shelter’s usual family-friendly space with games, toys, puzzles and art kits to keep both children and adults occupied while quarantined in their rooms. Twin Oaks became a hub for distance learning as students completed their classes online at the shelter. Read more here, and learn how you can help.

  • We have received more than 1,000 pre-screen forms for the WI Rental Assistance Program (WRAP). If you know someone in need of rental assistance due to the pandemic, click here for more information.
Our successes aren't possible without the passionate work by our staff, volunteers and supporters. Thank you for being part of our mission to create pathways out of poverty in Rock and Walworth counties.
