This week, three cyclones struck South and Southeast Asia simultaneously, bringing torrential rains that triggered deadly flooding and landslides. Indonesia is among the hardest hit during the latest string of massive storms to batter the region.
Over 1,350 people have been killed and the death toll continues to rise. 1.5 million people have been affected. And 580,000 people have been displaced, many seeking shelter in overcrowded camps. Survivors have not eaten for days and fuel and supplies are running out in remote, difficult to reach areas.
"According to my grandmother, this is the worst, the worst in her life," Amalia , a resident, told the BBC. Another resident, Maysanti , said, "Everything is gone. Our food supplies are running out. We can't eat … Access to us is completely cut off"
When disaster strikes, healthcare often collapses — and women and girls are the first to suffer. UNFPA teams are on the ground providing essential maternal health services, family planning resources, and support for survivors of violence — all powered by supporters like you. Will you rush a gift to deliver lifesaving care in Indonesia and wherever women and girls need help most? [[link removed]?]

Homes and health facilities in Indonesia have been submerged after severe flooding.
In Indonesia, one mother dies every hour from complications during pregnancy and childbirth — even before disasters overwhelm the health system. Now, flooded roads, damaged hospitals, and destroyed community health centers have left expecting mothers without access to maternal services when they need it most.
Thousands of pregnant women do not have enough food, clean facilities, sterile equipment, or trained midwives to deliver safely. Newborns face extreme risk of developmental delays and complications without Mama Kits and essential medicines in their first hours of life. Displaced women and girls have nothing. No menstrual supplies, soap, or clean clothing — increasing their risk of illness, exploitation, and abuse.
UNFPA provides Dignity Kits with personal care supplies to women and girls, so no matter what, they can manage their periods and take care of themselves. We equip pregnant women with Emergency Birth Kits and Mama Kits to ensure moms and newborns survive birth and have diapers, blankets, and clothes they need after. We also deploy mobile health services to reach communities cut off from clinics due to disaster or conflict.
With resources stretched thin, women and girls are counting on you to keep these lifesaving services up and running. Please, make an urgent gift today to deliver hope, supplies, and dignity for women and girls in Indonesia, across Southeast Asia, and wherever help is needed most. [[link removed]?]
