Team — the acting director of ICE, Todd Lyons, just called me “disgusting” because I told the truth: it’s time to hold ICE accountable for their abuse.
After I toured the Burlington facility this week, I said what any decent person would: that we need to prosecute abuses of power, not ignore them.
Now, instead of fixing what’s broken, ICE leadership is attacking me for calling them out.
Todd Lyons’ comments make it clear why we need oversight of ICE and why the documented abuses of ICE need to be prosecuted. His complete disregard for the law his agency claims to enforce shows an utter lack of accountability and responsibility.
This is likely just the beginning of their attacks on me, and that's why I need you with me.
