John,

It's Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. Recently, I held a roundtable with the Better Business Bureau and Arizona small business owners about Trump's tariffs.

What I heard was devastating.

One owner of a Phoenix construction company told me: "Every time I turn around, my prices are going up. I tell my customers the price went up on these tariffs, they don't care. They said, 'this is the price you gave me,' so I'm eating money every job."

He is losing $110,000 on a single project right now. He's going to have to add a "tariff cushion" to future bids, making it even harder for Arizona families to afford a home.

"The tariffs are making it harder for the smaller people," he said. "Bigger people can absorb it. The smaller people can't, they push them out of the market."

And he is not the only small business owner in Arizona feeling the pain…

Another attendee owns a commercial cleaning company. When the large industrial businesses he works with look to cut expenses because of tariffs, cleaning companies were first on the chopping block.

Another helps Arizonans move into 55+ communities. A client on a fixed income needed to replace a gas furnace. A few years ago: $3,000. Now? $5,200 or more.

When I was asked what the state can do to help, here's what I told them: Contact your state lawmakers and demand they pass financial relief for businesses affected by tariffs ahead of the January legislative session.

Let's have Republican legislators put their money where their mouth is. They claim to be pro-business. Now prove it.

Trump's tariffs aren't generating revenue or protecting jobs. They're crushing small businesses and driving up costs for Arizona families.

Can you chip in today to help me keep fighting Trump's illegal tariffs?

I'll keep taking this fight to the Supreme Court and standing up for Arizona small businesses. Stay tuned!

For now, thanks as always for having my back.
