I won’t lie: My kids tell me all the time how “cringe” I am. Since I don’t spend hours a day scrolling through TikTok, I’ve been known to fall… a little bit behind on the latest trends.
But here’s the thing: No matter how uncomfortable I may make my kids (or Republican leadership), I’m not going to stop being myself. I’ll keep speaking truth to power. And yes, I’m going to share some of the worst dad jokes you’ll ever hear.

Listen, my kids are probably going to see this email at some point. And to be completely honest, I’m not going to hear the end of it. But as a dad of three, I’ve had no shortage of “cringe” moments according to my kids — so what’s one more?
After all, if the only thing standing between us and a Democratic majority are a few embarrassing emails like this? I’ll take that deal in a heartbeat.
Look, a lot of people in Washington want to fit me into a mold and turn me into something that I’m not. But I don’t take marching orders from those in charge. Never have, never will. I’ve always been myself and fought for what’s right, not what’s convenient — because that’s the kind of leadership California deserves.
So yes, I’m going to be a “cringe” dad from time to time. And yes, I’m going to call out Donald Trump and his corrupt administration, even if political pundits think it’s risky. Because that’s who I am — and there’s nothing cringe about that.
If Republican leadership sees this email, they’re going to think I’m cringe . But I don’t give a damn what they think — and I know you don’t either.
