While the past few months have been unlike anything we’ve seen before — in our state and in our country — the way we came together made me so proud to be an Oregonian. When President Trump tried to use our own military against us, we showed the power of peaceful resistance. When President Trump created a food emergency by withholding SNAP funds, Oregon stepped up to help feed our neighbors. I’ve never been prouder to work for you — but the fight isn’t over. I’m running for Governor again because Oregon values are on the line. The choice is between a governor who will stand up for Oregon and protect what we believe in, or a governor who will let President Trump do whatever he wants. And with everything going on, we still have to keep building on the progress we’ve made, to make sure people can afford to call Oregon home. We expanded the number of shelter beds, began building more homes people can afford, funded summer learning, and found ways to ease the rising cost of living. It’s a start, but we need to do more. Especially with everything coming at us from Washington, D.C. As Governor, I’ve visited all thirty-six counties across Oregon, and I’ve seen firsthand the strength and resilience that makes our state such a special place. That’s why I’m so optimistic about our future. It’s why I’m excited to officially announce my re-election campaign for Governor of our great state.
