December 2025

Dear Education Changemakers,

What happens when you gather 200+ educators from 40 states and 8 countries for a 2-week deep dive into antisemitism education? You get a learning community that is honest about the challenges, eager for concrete tools, and deeply committed to creating welcoming classrooms where every student can thrive.

We were blown away by the response to this October’s Breaking Down Antisemitism: Guiding Students from Awareness to Action online course. 100% of participants said they would recommend the course to a colleague, sharing that it “demystified antisemitism,” made them feel “less alone,” offered tools that were “clear, practical, and immediately useful,” and made them hopeful that “one day we can make antisemitism extinct.” With half of participants new to antisemitism education and the majority non-Jewish, we saw just how eager educators are for intentional, well-designed antisemitism education that prepares students to be upstanders.

Because of this strong demand and powerful feedback, we’re excited to share that Breaking Down Antisemitism will run again in February and April. You’ll have the flexibility to move through the online content on your own schedule, paired with a live webinar to connect with fellow educators. The course is offered at no cost to educators and earns you a certificate for 6 professional learning hours.

If you’ve been looking for a supportive on-ramp into antisemitism education—or a way to deepen and structure work you’re already doing—we’d love to have you join us.

DECEMBER HOLIDAYS, CELEBRATIONS AND OBSERVANCES

‌

‌

December is a month filled with many religious, cultural and ethnic holidays and observances, offering a

powerful opportunity to build an inclusive and welcoming school community. As you plan lessons, events and communications, consider how you might invite students and staff to share their own traditions, practices and stories in ways that honor the diversity of your school. You might use picture books, short films, artifacts from home, or lessons that highlight a range of winter holidays - from different faiths and cultures - to deepen understanding and respect. Thoughtful use of the Calendar of Observances can help you avoid conflicts with important religious dates, while also inspiring activities that affirm students’ identities and promote mutual respect during this meaningful time
of year.

ADL EDUCATION'S IMPACT

‌

‌

ADL had a special opportunity to work with the BBYO Rise Up Cohort teens from the US and abroad throughout October and November. These engaged student leaders gained knowledge about antisemitism and its manifestations, learned skills for identifying and responding to antisemitism online, and practiced strategies for engaging with friends and community members in dialogue around antisemitism and Jewish identity.
