SIGN NOW: Trump is blacklisting journalists who criticize him. Demand media companies stand up for free speech >>
John, Trump is assembling a blacklist of journalists and outlets who dare to challenge him. [1]
His White House has published a list of so-called “Media Offenders” that’s packed with sloppy, easily debunked smears – including one so wrong that Trump’s team had to temporarily pull the website offline to change it. [2]
But the danger is far bigger than Trump getting his facts wrong again. It’s part of his all-out assault on our free press, our right to dissent, and our First Amendment rights.
Trump is responding to straightforward questions from women journalists with personal insults. [3] He’s gutting public media like PBS and NPR. And he’s trying to sue newsrooms into silence – with far too many like CBS and ABC paying him millions instead of fighting back. [4]
It doesn’t have to be this way – and you can help. We need millions of Americans to speak up right now and demand the media fulfill its civic duty: don’t be intimidated, defend free speech, and stand up for your journalists when they face attacks for doing their jobs.
Sign the Petition: Tell these media companies to reject Trump’s blacklist and refuse to bend to political pressure >>
The journalists and outlets Trump is targeting all have something in common: they asked tough questions, challenged his false claims, or refused to follow the restrictions he and Pete Hegseth tried to impose on their reporting. [5]
These attacks are straight out of a dictator’s playbook. A free, independent media is a First Amendment guarantee that’s essential to democracy – helping expose corruption, hold leaders accountable, and inform the public.
But Trump is flipping that principle on its head. Instead of answering basic questions, he’s punishing the people who ask them – and daring media companies to choose between the truth and their bottom line.
And every time a network caves, it tells Trump he can go even further – with harsher threats, more expensive lawsuits, and more pressure to silence critics.
If you agree that our media should be holding the powerful accountable – not bowing to them – join us to demand they stand up to Trump >>
Thanks for all you do,
