Giving Week 2X Match Deadline: MIDNIGHT ([link removed])
In the 19th century, Tricolored Blackbirds were among the most abundant birds in California, numbering between two and three million. But as coastal and Central Valley marshlands vanished and native foraging areas gave way to development, the birds increasingly turned to agricultural fields for nesting. This shift left colonies vulnerable, as harvests often had to begin before chicks had fledged. By 2014, the population had plummeted to just 145,000. And now, if climate change continues unchecked, 60% of this bird's remaining range could be lost.

Our Giving Week extended match ends at midnight tonight, which means there are only a few hours left to flock to birds’ defense with double the power. Start your monthly gift right away while your first gift could still be matched, up to $10,000. But hurry! This offer expires at midnight tonight—and it won’t be extended again. ([link removed])

With more than a century of expertise under our wing and dedicated friends like you by our side, we can create a safer future for birds and people. And truth be told, we already are. Take our work with Tricolored Blackbirds in California: By teaming up with researchers, dairy groups, and wildlife agencies, we helped develop lasting solutions to a growing crisis. We’ve also worked with landowners to protect colonies—boosting the San Joaquin Valley’s breeding population from 75,000 in 2015 to an estimated 209,000 in 2024.

It comes down to this: Where we work—and when you help—birds are better off. So please, be one of the 100 caring friends we’re depending on to start a monthly gift before midnight. For a few more hours, your first gift can be matched to make 2X the impact! ([link removed])
Sincerely,
