Dear Friend,

What happens when you hand a camera to a child and ask them to show the world through their eyes?

The Louisville Urban League's Polaroid Project, in collaboration with Seek Common Ground, is helping us find out.

For six weeks, students in grades K-12 received a free camera, accompanied by weekly sessions with special guests who discussed photography, photojournalism, self-expression, and activism. In just a few weeks, they learned to process the world around them with care and creativity.

The program has since reached over 150 kids—and counting—and has received requests from art galleries interested in the children's work.  The students will present their work in collaboration with Kentucky Performing Arts.

Programs like these empower the next generation, giving them the tools to become future creators and changemakers. Before the year ends, did you know you can help us continue our mission, advocacy and vital programs like these that spark creativity, build leadership, and create space for justice without giving cash?

Gifts of appreciated stock not only empower the National Urban League's mission, helping us change lives and transform communities, but they also provide additional tax benefits for you, like avoiding capital gains and receiving a charitable deduction.

Thank you,  Friend, Together, we can prepare the next generation for excellence.

With gratitude,

Marc H. Morial

President and Chief Executive Officer

P.S. If you want your stock gift to benefit your 2025 tax returns, make sure to donate by December 16th so we have enough time to process it before the end of the year.
