Dear MoveOn member,
Megyn Kelly recently went on her radio show to defend Jeffrey Epstein—disturbingly claiming that he “was not a pedophile” because his victims were 15-year-old children.1 “He wasn't into, like, 8-year-olds,” she continued.2
A 15-year-old girl is a child and unable to consent.3 Kelly’s statements are not only despicable—they are dangerous. She used her platform to spread misinformation dismissing not only survivors of Epstein’s abuse but victims across the country.
These disturbing comments come after backlash from claims in Epstein emails alleging that Trump “knew about the girls.”4 Trump and his allies have been scrambling to claim that the scandal around releasing the Epstein files was just a “Democratic hoax,” and now Kelly is going so far as to defend Epstein and make excuses for the child sex trafficking he was convicted of committing.5
Kelly just received a multiyear deal with SiriusXM. Her on-air comments show that she should NOT have a platform with millions of listeners. Sign the petition to demand that SiriusXM cancel Megyn Kelly’s show NOW!
Any defense of Epstein is simply immoral. Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell spent decades abusing young girls and women. Megyn Kelly’s rhetoric is not only disgraceful to every survivor out there, it’s harmful. This rhetoric attempts to minimize Epstein’s harm and takes away the pain and abuse he caused thousands to go through.
On top of these heinous comments, this isn’t the first time that Megyn Kelly has caused controversy. She’s spent years spewing hateful rhetoric to her viewers, and years ago, she was even fired for trying to justify blackface on Halloween.6 It’s clear that Megyn Kelly doesn’t deserve a platform to spread her hateful rhetoric—especially one with millions of listeners and dollars behind it.
Tell SiriusXM: Cancel Megyn Kelly’s show NOW! Sign the petition now, and share with three friends.
Thanks for all you do.
