Donald Trump just called Minnesota a “hellhole.” Not my Minnesota.
Trump is attacking Somali Minnesotans and all of our immigrant neighbors. He thinks he can send ICE strike teams to the Twin Cities to spread fear and chaos.
But I know the truth. Minnesotans care about each other – and our beautiful state. We shovel the driveway for our elderly neighbors, bring a new mom some hotdish, and open our arms wide to anyone who needs a new home.
Trump’s words are abhorrent. Somali Minnesotans are my neighbors and friends. Americans like you and me.
We cannot allow Trump's hate to cause fear and divide us. Now is the time for us to stand strong in the face of his bigotry and scapegoating.
