Fourteen FEMA employees did something extraordinary. They wrote a letter warning Congress that Donald Trump was gutting disaster response across the United States. They spoke up because they believed Americans were being put at risk. They were subsequently put on administrative leave.
Last week, the agency told them they would be reinstated. But then, in a stunning reversal, the Trump administration yanked that decision back and fired them.
This is what retaliation looks like when a leader cares more about loyalty than public safety. These workers were trying to protect families facing hurricanes, floods, and fires. Their warning was simple. The country is less prepared for disasters under Trump.
Now they are being punished for it.
SEEC PAC is fighting to elect leaders who believe in science, accountability, and saving lives from climate disasters. Leaders who listen when experts raise alarms. Leaders who never punish public servants for speaking out.
Thank you for standing with the workers who stood up for the truth!
