Today, I launched my re-election campaign. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support from so many of you.

It’s made me reflect on how I got here. In 2012, I was illegally fired from my job at the National Whistleblower Center for attempting to organize a union. I was offered a severance package with a gag clause that would have prevented me from talking about my experiences, and I turned it down. I pursued legal action against my employer and won.

I went on to work for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. But eventually, I realized that I could do so much more to stand up for working families by running for office.

That’s why I ran for State Senate in 2018, and why I’m running for re-election now. Grassroots support has always been so important to my campaign. That’s why, as we close out the first day of my re-election campaign, I’m hoping you’ll chip in to help us hit our launch goal of $5,000.
