We'll share updates on the Council’s work and gather input on clean energy siting and permitting

The Interagency Clean Energy Siting Coordinating Council invites you to participate in an online forum on clean energy siting and permitting in Washington. The forum will provide updates on the Council’s work and seek input on clean energy siting and permitting topics.

The Clean Energy Siting Council was created to improve the process of siting and permitting clean energy and transmission projects in Washington. It is comprised of 13 state agencies and is co-chaired by the Departments of Ecology and Commerce. The Council recommends actions to improve siting and permitting processes. It does not make decisions on individual projects. The Council typically convenes three online forums each year to provide updates and seek input.

The Council recently submitted its 2025 annual report to the Governor and state Legislature with updates on clean energy efforts and recommendations to improve siting and permitting. The recommendations were informed by input from tribes and interested parties and included:

* Addressing energy transmission capacity limitations
* Supporting clean energy development
* Improving permitting
* Supporting community engagement
* Addressing emerging technologies

The December 16 forum will provide an overview of the Council’s annual report, along with updates on agency actions and recommendations to improve clean energy siting and permitting. Your input will help the Council build its 2026 workplan, identify priorities for the next legislative session, and prepare its 2026 annual report.

Eligible participants may request compensation for taking part in this forum.
