CLASP is thrilled to share the launch of its Child Care and Early Education Policy Fellowship for Parents, which is designed to center and elevate the expertise and lived experience of parents in national child care policy. The fellowship brings parent leaders into direct partnership with our Child Care and Early Education team, providing training, professional development, and opportunities to engage in advocacy at both the state and federal levels. Learn more about the fellowship here.
This fall, we welcomed our inaugural cohort of two mothers who are passionate, dedicated advocates fighting to ensure that all children have access to affordable, quality child care and early education.
Based in Lima, Ohio, Alecia Murray is an advocate and champion for early childhood education, health equity, and uplifting parent voices. Her work spans leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels, including parent network development, policy advocacy, and advancing strategies that strengthen the connection between families and schools. Learn more about Alecia here.
In California's Bay Area, Lily Marquez is a passionate advocate for equity in child care, education, and economic opportunities. Motivated by her own experience navigating systems without adequate child care, she has spent nearly a decade working to ensure policies reflect the realities of the families they serve. Lily brings leadership experience at both the state and federal levels in parent organizing, systems-change advocacy, and community-centered policy development. Learn more about Lily here.
CLASP is honored to be joined by Alecia and Lily and look forward to working with them through summer 2026 as we continue to work toward policy solutions that are informed, shaped, and led by the families they impact.
