“Quiet. Quiet, piggy.”
This is what President Trump recently said to a reporter who was just doing her job. Sadly, these outright vile, public attacks on women journalists aren’t anything new.
These attacks on female journalists started during his 2015 campaign and have continued in recent weeks when he has consistently called women reporters “piggy,” “ugly,” “stupid,” “nasty,” and “insubordinate.”
Being a woman journalist has never been easy, and I’m so proud of the work I’ve done as a journalist, news anchor, political advisor, and White House Fellow with ABC News, MSNBC, Al Jazeera America, and as the host for WNYC Radio’s All Things Considered.
It’s clear that we need more women leaders and truth-seekers in Congress who, like me, know how to confront bullies, navigate political spaces and tell the stories that need to be heard to change policies that affect our everyday lives.
That’s why I’m asking for your support with a donation today.
Please support my campaign in these early days so that I can show New Yorkers how valuable my experience is.
