We really wanted Aftyn Behn to win last night. And we’re bummed she came up just short. 

But as opposed to most losses, there really is a huge reason to look on the bright side here. 

Just check out this headline from last night:

13 months ago, Trump won this District by 22 points. And the candidate Trump backed in that race won by 21 points. 

Yesterday, the candidate Trump backed in TN-7 won by less than 9 points. That’s a 12 point swing in a little over a year.

This goes to show that Republicans are hurting. Their leader is screwing voters left and right, and their party refuses to work. Our work is cut out for us.

All we have to do is keep spreading awareness, keep getting involved in contested elections, and keep looking forward to 2026, because that’s where we deliver a major blow to fascism and get our democracy back on track.
