Dear AFGE Activist,
The Partnership for Public Service is collecting nominations for the 2026 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals, better known as the Sammies, through Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.
Since 2001, the Partnership has recognized nearly 800 outstanding civil servants through the Sammies – sharing impactful stories with the public of all our government does to make our nation stronger, healthier and more prosperous.
Telling these stories and celebrating the accomplishments of the federal workforce has never been more important, and we encourage you to consider submitting a nomination.
The Partnership is accepting nominations for outstanding work from the last three years, even if the nominee is not currently a federal employee. For the career achievement category, nominations should encompass the nominee's 20 or more years as a federal employee, but nominees should have been a federal employee within the last three years to be eligible.
