The political idiom says, "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." Let's add: "...and Off-Year Congressional Special Elections."

But here are the facts about last night’s election that are shocking the Republican Party this morning:

Donald Trump won this district by 22 points just over one year ago. Last night, they won by less than 10.
If the midterms look anything like this election, Democrats could control 250 seats.

Public sentiment is swinging against Trump and the GOP. They have not delivered on their campaign “promises,” and the majority now believe the country is going in the wrong direction. We must capitalize on this building wave and bring momentum into 2026. Will you support our effort to flip the House by rushing a donation of any size this morning?

When national Democratic committees were looking the other way, we jumped into this race. We saw the potential to expose how unpopular Trump’s agenda is and how fragile their gerrymandered maps truly are.

Every Republican incumbent who won by a 60-40 margin (or less) in 2024 is running scared today. They now know the resources they have to divert to their own defense, which means less money for Mike Johnson and less money for Trump to spend attacking Democrats.

This is our strategy, and last night was just a preview of what we can do in 2026.
