# [#]John,
First, I want to thank you for pitching in ahead of our end-of-month deadline. I know it’s a tough time of year for a lot of hardworking families, and your support means more than you know.
Budgets are tight for so many people right now. Groceries, childcare, housing, you name it – let alone the holiday season that can stretch families thin. But Giving Tuesday is one of those rare chances for us to come together in the spirit of kindness and generosity and make a real difference close to home.
Just a couple dollars, or an hour of your time, can go a long way for the organizations keeping our communities strong, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Here are a few in Southwest Washington I hope you’ll consider supporting:
FISH Vancouver
They help ensure families don’t go hungry. Last year they served over 45,000 households and distributed more than 2.1 million pounds of food. You can donate funds online, drop off food at 906 Harney in Vancouver, or sign up to volunteer.

SELF WA (Support for Early Learning and Families)
Childcare shouldn’t be a crisis, but it is. SELF WA is tackling it head-on. They recruit and support new childcare providers and help strengthen early learning programs across Southwest Washington.

Cascadia Tech Academy Foundation
They provide essential tools, equipment, and scholarships so students can train with up-to-date, industry-ready technology. This is a huge boost for young people preparing for high-demand and high-skill careers.

Southwest Washingtonians show up for their neighbors. Today’s a good reminder of how powerful that simple act can be.
If you’re able to give a few dollars or volunteer your time, it truly makes a difference.
Thanks for everything you do to keep our community strong, John. I’m grateful to be in this with you.
– Marie
