Folks,
Today is an important day for fundraising at the NDRC, so let me be direct about why your Giving Tuesday donation of any amount is so important.
Across the country, fair representation is being threatened. Anti-democracy extremists have passed gerrymanders in Texas and North Carolina that strip minority communities of fair representation. Map manipulators are meddling in Florida, Indiana, and Kansas to try and rig the midterms. A Supreme Court ruling on the constitutionality of the Voting Rights Act could come down any day now.
The threats to our democracy are happening right now. We can’t take any of it lightly.
With so much at stake, this national day of giving is a chance for our entire community to come together and keep our grassroots fundraising strong, ensuring we have the resources to carry on the fight for a truly representative democracy.
We’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $50,000 this Giving Tuesday to ensure we remain ready to respond to threats in 2026 and beyond. Will you donate any amount before midnight to help us continue pushing back against attacks on fair maps right now?
When Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama founded the NDRC almost a decade ago, it was because Republicans were quietly gerrymandering their way to power in Congress and state legislatures by disenfranchising voters. Put simply, they were cheating.
This past year, we’ve witnessed them cheating their way to power explode out in the open. Donald Trump and his White House are undertaking an unprecedented assault on fair representation, openly coordinating with Republicans nationwide to redraw maps mid-decade — a blatant attempt to unfairly hold on to power.
The good news is, this is what the NDRC was built for. Together, with grassroots supporters like you, we’ve been fighting back every step of the way. And we’ve had huge wins with voters passing Proposition 50 in California, establishing a Democratic trifecta in Virginia, defending an independent-minded state Supreme Court in Pennsylvania, and so much more.
But as the attacks on fair maps get more egregious, every dollar matters in ensuring the NDRC has the resources to fight back. We already know that our opponents are planning to take their fight to states like Florida and Indiana in the next few weeks — and they are extremely well-funded. This Giving Tuesday, make a donation to help us continue this critical work and grow this grassroots movement: [[link removed]]
