John,
Last week, Congresswoman Maria Salazar announced that she was holding an event in support of her “Dignity Act.” But it wasn’t a press conference, or a roundtable with immigrants, and we all know it wasn’t a Town Hall.
It was a book signing for “Dignity,” the book she wrote about her plan to extort immigrants without giving them a path to citizenship…which can be purchased for $29.99.
I don’t think that dignity is something that can be sold.
I believe that dignity is how you treat people, especially when their lives, families and futures are on the line.

Right now, immigrants in our community are living in fear. TPS has been revoked. ICE is grabbing people at immigration hearings — people that are doing everything they can to follow the law. According to the data, the majority of people in detention centers like Alligator Alcatraz have no criminal record.
We need real solutions here, not book tours.
As the son of immigrants, this isn’t a fight I’ll turn my back on. When I’m in Congress, I’ll work to restore TPS status for Haitians and Venezuelans. I’ll ensure that DREAMers and the families who have built their lives here are no longer living in fear. I’ll make sure we’re actually securing our border in a tough but fair way, while creating a modern, workable visa system.
We can do better. We can have a system that is safe, orderly and humane.
If you’re with me, can you click here to chip in $10 (or $29.99!) and help us meet our end of year fundraising goal? I need you now more than ever to show that we can beat her. [[link removed]]
